Keep your tools in one location, in the garage, basement, or shed, so you can easily take inventory before getting started. Sometimes beginning a home improvement project can be difficult if you are unsure of where to start. Start with projects that match your skill level and move up from there
Play it safe.
Whether you’re using power tools or hand tools, your personal safety should always be a primary concern. Wear safety glasses when using tools; read all instruction manuals; match accessories to the project, for instance, use appropriately sized drill bits for the job at hand; and do not wear loose clothing, which can easily get in the way.
